One year ago we purchased a house on the Lake even though previously we had never been here. All last winter, I read the forum ( "lurked is a better term"), learning about the Lake, its pleasures and problems. By ice-out, we were ready to move up here and finally arrived on May 1 and have been here ever since. This year has been one of orientation and learning. The Forum has been invaluable although with the notable exception of "Waldo Pepper," we did not meet anyone in person.

In a few days we will head back to Florida, but I wanted to thank everyone on the Forum for the fun and the education. Although Florida is beautiful in the winter, I will need my daily fix of the Forum to keep the feelings of the Lake alive. Those of you who have grown up on the Lake are fortunate to have all the memories. Thank you again as I remain "Newbiesaukee."
