Starting the week after labor day the seasonal properties begin closing down. My father has been doing this close down process for a soft drink company in the lakes region territory going on his twenty ninth year, it is mostly the smaller seasonal attractions, i.e. mini golf, water slides, go karts, really small dining that start first. But remember he is only one man and does this alone so you should be in good shape, I can't speak for those that serve a red canned soda only blue.

Is the best time to go boating. Minimum exposure to Cap'n Boneheads, the air is crisp. No 'fighting' for public dock spaces. Most commercial places are still open. Even the beach bars!
