She had red blood-shot eyes, was slurring words, was swearing at employees very loud for the entire place to hear, was rude to customers, repeating herself over and over, and was making off color comments. What would YOU think was going on? Not to mention, when she walked away, she was the talk of the restaurant, as I am not the only one that witnessed this.

As for off-color humor .... for a place that claims to be a family restaurant, to be talking about the size of her husbands balls with a 12 and 7 year old little girl sitting at the table - if you are fine with that, to each his/her own.

Our experience was better fit for Bike Week in Laconia, not a family of 12 going out for a nice dinner on a Saturday night.

And again, this is no reflection on the food, because it was to die for. That was the unfortunate thing, because we all loved the meals.

Default karen & barrys

Hello, my name is barry and that was my wife you said had waited on you that night you were in my restaurant, first off I totally apoligize for her, you can talk with any of my customers that come in my restaurant and you will find that everybody loves her, on the night you came in she was not going to work but the person that was supposed to work could not come in so we tried to go with out her but we could not, second she does not drink what happen was she had been taking tranquilizers because the day before she had been told that her uncle whom she was very close to had died of a massive heart attack at the age of 50, so that must have been why she was sulring her words as I said she was not going to work that night but I had to have her come in to help, and the problem is we live upstairs so its easy toget her in. I know that it doesnt justify what happen to you and your party but I had to have her help that night. I am glad that you enjoyed the food and I hope you and your wife would give us another try, the whole meal will be on me. Please if you do give us another try just ask for barry, I would like to meet you and apoligize in person. thanks barry myers

Barry, thank you for the explanation. Condolences on the loss.

It is nice to know that this was simply an off-night, and not the norm, because again, you did a great job on the food.

Being in the restaurant industry, I know full well how a 'front of house' issue can hurt the entire establishment.

Once again, thank you for clearing that up, and we will be back for another try.

We have eaten several times at K&B's and have met Karen in the process. She has always been wonderful as has the whole dining experience.

Karen, very sorry for your loss. You have always been warm and professional in our visits to your restaurant.

Barry, great job cooking "out back" and thanks for the explanation. It is hard to be perfect every day.

OldManGranite, sorry to hear about your unfortunate experience. I would return and meet with Karen and Barry. They are very nice people and very sincere from all I have seen.

We will continue to patronize Karen and Barry's. It is a good family restaurant. This seems to me to have been a highly-unusual bad night, as Barry has explained.
