Does anyone else here keep a camp journal? Not a personal diary but a camp journal that anyone can write their thoughts in. I have relatives who have kept one for their current place on the lake since they purchased it. I knew nothing about it until a couple of years ago when an aunt showed it to me. There were entries in it by aunts, uncles, grandparents and old family friends. It was great to be able to go back and read through them.

Yes, we keep one at our cottage. Since we share the place with relatives, each spending about 2 weeks from June through September, each family writes in the journal typically at the conclusion of their 2 weeks. Topics include what the family did while they were there, what they saw, where they ate, etc. I remember writing one passage about the strange empty bug shells that were clinging to the walls and screens on the porch and wondering what type of bug came out of them. It looked like some huge spider emerged but that wasn't what it was. It turned out to be dragonflys.
