Default Information on any of these cottage colonies?

Hello again, all-

We're still planning that family vacation and I think we've decided to go the rent a cabin/cottage for a week route. You all gave such good advice in the other family vacation thread that I thought I'd post another one to pick your brains about three different places:

1) Holiday Bay Cottages in Laconia (http://www.holidaybaycottages.com/)

2) Cozy Inn and Cottages in Weirs Beach (http://www.cozyinn-nh.com/index.html)

3) Tower Hill Cottages in Weirs Beach (http://www.cottagesattowerhill.com/)

Does anyone have any feedback on any of these three?

Default One vote, and some more choices

Of the three listed, my choice would be CozyInn and Cottages, operated by Diane and Joe Driscoll, who have invested heavily in refurbishment of that property and several others in the immediate vicinity. Located smack in the heart of the Weirs Beach area, within walking distance to the beach, the peir, the Mount Washington Docks, etc.

If you are looking at cottages, you may also want to check out the following pages:

http://www.channelcottages.com/
Operated by Jose and Stacey DeMatos - located on the Weirs Channel - a must if you'd like to bring along a canine family member!

and

http://www.lakehousecottages.com/
Operated by Fred and Maureen Klaussen, a little further down the channel, with a larger private beach, and a swim platform - check out their webcam for a view of the beach and channel.

and

http://www.abakeecottages.com/
Operated by Bill and Annette Piorrer, a bit more private, still in the general Weirs Area. Also with a private beach and a webcam to check out - although I believe it might be off for the season.

Others on the board may be able to offer additional suggestions and ideas as well. No matter where you choose, have a wonderful time.!!!!

Default Close to everything

My vote is for Cozy Inn too. They have done / doing a major amount of renovations. And guess what not only are they a stones throw from the Weirs, they are even closer to the infamous WALDO PEPPERS. You have GOT to try this place for lunch or dinner or both. You'll be thanking yourself if you do.

Thumbs up

Based on a review your suggested and other recomended places to stay and if you want to be where they will have it all then stay at The Cozy Inn. But all of the lodgings seem to be very nice and you need to decide which will meet the majority of vacation your needs.

As for Waldo Peppers - you cannot go wrong there and have the
Hot Buttered Lobster Roll done like no one else does it! I had one just last week.

Default Other options...

Hi Sorourke:
Other options to consider.....
a.- the classifieds on this page
Winnipesaukee Classifieds
b.- The various real estate agencies that advertise on this site. Many have summer rentals available......such as
Curry Realtors - Alton Bay
c.- many people rent their place through on line services. Have you tried...
.....these Winnipesaukee listings?
Good Luck and have a great time! Hope the weather cooperates! - McD

Thanks to all for the fine feedback. I have checked out the other sites listed, including the other cabin colonies and the classifieds and the realtors listings. The sites listed on www.winnipesaukee.com have all been quite helpful. As I said in another thread, you folks are excellent advocates for your beloved Lake.

We heard back from Diane at Cozy Inn today and were very impressed with the professionalism and fine service. We're waiting to hear back from Tower Hill. Couldn't reach anyone who could answer questions at the number given for Holiday Bay yet.

Other opinions and feedback from the forum regulars are still welcome. Thanks again!

You each have that right, phoenix and Just Sold. We were there last Saturday afternoon with a number of friends and the lobster rolls and subs were absolutely delicious (again)! We've never been disappointed there so by all means, sorourke (and everyone else), be sure to drop by Waldo Peppers, enjoy the wonderful food, and say hello to Pepper.
