Wink Time To Go Home...

My month on the beautiful shores of Lake Winnipesaukee are ending. Tonight is my last night and I just wanted to take this time to thank my gracious host.

It was great to follow in your family's footsteps, to explore your land (and Wolfeboro in it's entirety), to snorkel your waters, and to know at the end of each day, no matter where my adventures took me, I always had the pleasure of coming "home" to the wonderful oasis that is your "cabin by the lake".

From hiking Red Hill and Rattlesnake Mountain to zipping around the Broads and Moultonborough Bay via Jet Ski, each day was better than the last.

The weather couldn't have been better if scripted by a Hollywood screen writer. I've been coming to the lake for 37 years and this summer was, by far, simply the best. I think it only rained three times that I can recall and two of the storms were at night as I slept.

I'll miss this place and I'll miss the lake but I'll know that my memories of my time here will last forever and in the meantime, I'll be counting down the days until I can do it all over again next year.

So again, I say thank you and wish you the best.

Jay,

Like others I am sure, I enjoyed reading about your trip to the lake and living vicariously through it!

You had virtually perfect weather for your month, what a summer it has been.

See you next year

Default Thank you...

Thank you, JKJoshua, for your lovely words, which I have now read several times. I feel the same nostalgia for the lake at the end of each day, even though we are fortunate enough to be living here for six months. We are half the year here and half the year on the ocean in Florida, so we are on a perpetual, non-stop fantastic vacation. The lake is indeed a very, very special place.

Yes, I,too, enjoyed your trip vicariously. We went up early (to make a HS graduation). The weather was iffy--and chilly-- at times, though we did have a nice time, anyway, for the 12 days we were there. Now when you announced your month long stay it just seemed like "forever"...but it went fast; and I wasn't there at all!! No question--that's an area where "time flies" (except possibly in January). Glad you all have that perfect summer to enjoy. Any chance there 'll be one like it next year??? I'm putting my order in early!
