Default Little Birdies...Fierce Cousins...

I find it interesting that bird close-ups show the thin ring of bony structures that protect the margin to the eye. The white part shows best in this picture.



(This picture does have some merit in it. )

The same kind of structure is found in reptiles, with whom our little birdies shared the ancient world.



So yes, that little birdie at the bird bath is a distant relative of Tyrannosaurus rex.
