We enjoyed the great drinks and service. The food is very good too but the portions could be larger for the price you paying. It would be nice if they cleaned up the back. Time for a yard sale and whatever can't be sold, donate it to Waste Management.

![]() price in ratio to portion size was an early dilemma I faced. Do I buy, then serve lower quality from the conglomerates for a cheaper price or do I feature local, fresher quality for a higher price? This was a difficult decision because our labor intense approach to preparation and presentation were other factors worthy of consideration when pricing our menu. Please also understand that Tavern 27 is so small that we can't make it up in volume. I'll never rush a party from their seats to turn a table. I prefer our guests to tell us when they are done, not us tell them. I don't plan to enlarge my portions or lower my prices but if you are looking for value with quality, come back in August when we are harvesting our garden. I believe I'll be able to create some specials, fresh from the garden that can compete with the chain store prices. Now about that clutter in the back ![]() |

Baygo, Glad to hear the restoration is continuing on to the back yard. We will be back and look forward to trying out some of your homegrown selections.

I don't know how many gophers I have here. They all look alike. I may be seeing the same one several times or many different ones, which means they are as heavily populate as Japan. I enjoy watching them run away. They are very cute and snugly in appearance. I don't have the kind of heart that wants to harm them but if I have to defend myself, here's the strategy; I'll inject the vegetation that borders the garden with yellow number five. It's a dye that conglomerates are putting in almost everything. Science has proven it to make the male specious impudent. Once the males eat the vegetation he will know longer be able to be the life of the party and therefore be incapable of impregnating the females. The local population will then die off. Unless... they learn how to order Viagra on-line. Hmmm ![]() A note I neglected to include in my last post; The food I serve, is worth the price I ask, because my concern for what I put in your stomach is above and beyond that of most of your options.. I look forward to pleasing your taste buds and watch out for your health for a very long time. |

Baygo,
How about hiring Carl Spackler to help out? He has an impressive resume including caddying for the Dalai Lama. As an assistant green's keeper at a prestigious private country club he knows how to take care of gophers. You can see the results here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0Hx5...eature=related |

Three Best Golf Movie quotes in no paticular order. (IMHO) Happy Gilmore: " During high school, I played junior hockey and still hold two league records: most time spent in the penalty box; and I was the only guy to ever take off his skate and try to stab somebody." Caddy Shack: " Oh, this is the worst-looking hat I ever saw. What, when you buy a hat like this I bet you get a free bowl of soup, huh?" Tin Cup: Roy: "If I had it to do all over again, I'd still hit that shot." Romeo: "Man, you'd bury yourself alive just to prove you could handle the shovel."

Baygo,
Here is an idea to put on the three year plan. Once you get the caddyshack out back spiffed up, turn it into an outdoor bar so we can all pull up in our golf carts for a drink or two. "Cinderella boy. Outta nowhere. A former greenskeeper now about to become the Masters champion. It looks like a mirac... It's in the hole! It's in the hole! It's in the hole!" |

...maybe Baygo can answer if he's around.
Is there a bar in Tavern 27? I love tapas and I'm going to be up at the lake for two weeks starting next Wednesday. I'd love to try Tavern 27 but because I'll be alone it feels a little more comfortable eating at a bar as opposed to a table. Thanks in advance!!! ![]()

My tee times are booked on Wednesdays for the next 9 weeks until after 2:30 PM. You could eat lunch first and play later.
I hope you hit it straight. I'm told the greens are rolling better than they have in decades so you can go low, but Jade Trace can be extremely penalizing to the extremely inaccurate golfer. I encourage golfer who have a hard time staying within the closer cut areas to make arrangements to attend one of my clinics. Sorry I'll miss you. I'm leaving in the AM to play a practice round for a PGA PAT in western Mass on Thurs. I'll rely one your post to the forum to let me know how the team did in my absence. Thanks in advance. |
