Default Wildlife at Winni this past week

Had some awesome sights this past week. One morning while sitting on the front lawn of our rental off Moultonboro Neck ducks came up to visit. While sitting in the sun, mama duck quacked and all the babies crouched down like a cat does while hunting and scurried off under bushes. We looked up and saw Mama eagle soaring over head on the hunt.

The eagle nest on Blueberry Island has fallen but the eaglets are still sitting on the tree branches getting bigger and bigger.

Walked out to the dock one morning and was greeted by a heron sitting on the rocks at the end of the dock.

Watched as mama loon swam by the dock with her 3, yes 3 babies. I've never seen that before.

Finally, sitting on the dock and hearing the ducks raising a ruckus - a mink or an otter swam up to the dock and ran on to shore.

Only one ugly problem - geese. We finally chased them away with our sling shot.

What awesome wildlife we saw this week. However, all good things must come to an end. In just one short plane ride, Boston to Dallas, I went from heaven to hell. Yesterday's temperature when I landed was 111 degrees. Oh to be able to go back to God's country - next year seems so far away!

I've seen several deer, a loon, smelled a mink (and one of my pups was convinced she could dig to it's lair under a pile of wood), and I'm definitely going to head to Blueberry over the weekend to see if I can spy the eaglets.

I still have a week left and it's going by soooooo fast.

Next year I'm coming for 6 weeks. It's official. I decided today when I woke up. If I have to live on pasta, eggs, and bread for the next year, it will be well worth it!!!

Thanks Janet!!!

Last week while i was driving home in Moultonborough I had an owl fly in front of my car I missed it ) and I had two deer cross on front of me (I missed them). It was a good evening. I enjoyed the wildlife and avoided any mishaps.
