Default Laconia Harley Davidsons "Pre Auction"

I just noticed the sign at the Harley shop in Meredith yesterday.
Winter Blowout
Pre Auction

I believe it says. Is the auction just to sell off overstocked inventory etc. or is it something worse ?

Default Just used bikes

I was there today to get oil & a filter so I asked about the auction.

They are preparing to turn most of the used bike inventory over to a wholesaler who in turn will sell them at auction at another location. So there should be some good deals on those used bikes right not.

The "auction" does not involve the new bikes or any part of the business.

That was my first thought, that they were just looking to clear out an abundance of inventory vs. sitting on it all winter. I am not a motorcycle enthusiast but I certainly didn't want to see another local business fall victim to the economy.

They take a ton of bikes in trade and do a pretty good job of selling them. They had a crazy bike week, taking 100s of bikes in trade. There was an appraisal tent at the top of the driveway- pull in, they evaluate your bike while you shop inside. 30 minutes later (or thereabouts) you ride out the
other door on your new ride!

As noted, they wholesale them. If you can get to the auctions with a dealer friend or as a dealer, there are some great deals to be had.
