Looking for a hobby shop in the lakes region that sells nitro fuel for a r/c boat. Preferably in the laconia area, but anywhere in the lakes region will do. Thanks.

Technically RC boats must be registered in NH. It would be a funny registration however. Length 16 inches, Hull plastic, Horsepower 0.001
And it will be hard to find a place for the stickers and the 3 inch high block letters for the bow numbers. (from the MP handbook) Registering Your Vessel You must have a New Hampshire Certificate of Registration and validation decals to legally operate your vessel on public waters in New Hampshire. This includes motorboats of any size (including those with electric motors), and sailboats or sailboards 12 ft. in length or longer. The only exceptions are: Sailboats and sailboards under 12 feet in length Other small, non-motorized vessels such as canoes and kayaks Vessels registered in other states using New Hampshire waters for 30 or fewer consecutive days Vessels owned or operated by the U.?S. government. |

Just checked with Boater Education at DMV Registration and they said by definition a boat must carry passengers and RC boats do not need registrations.
Does anyone know of a hobby store in the area? |

So if we don't carry passengers, we don't have to register our boat!

Just to clear up any misinterpretation of the applicable statute, from the NH RSAs....the operative words being "means of transportation", not passenger or operator.....
TITLE XXII NAVIGATION; HARBORS; COAST SURVEY CHAPTER 270-D BOATING AND WATER SAFETY ON NEW HAMPSHIRE PUBLIC WATERS Section 270-D:1 270-D:1 Definitions. – In this chapter: I. "Boat" means every description of watercraft other than seaplanes, capable of being used or used as a means of transportation on the water and which is primarily used for noncommercial purposes, or leased, rented, loaned or chartered to another for such use.... |

Fish, you can find your fuel, tools, parts and other supplies at Brent Hobbies on Union Avenue at Lakeport Square. He's located inside "Cash-N-Toys" in the building which once housed a hotel and theatre. It's on the same side of Union Ave as Fratello's restaurant, but across the little side street, which I believe is Clinton St. If you don't see what you're looking for, ask for Eric and he'll hook you right up. Nice guy, nice little niche for RC enthusiasts.

What type of RC boat do you have. I have a DUMAS hydro with a K&B Outboard but the lake is a bit to rough. The little thing has blown over backwards a few times when it launches off of a wave.
I am working on a Deep Vee in the hopes it will handle the waves better. |
