Thanks for that input.
Yes, all of the issues surrounding weight and size were discussed. The tracks are standard residential garage door tracks. The spring is a standard spring. The door size is standard door size. All were originally professionally installed with high quality components. I am replacing same door for same door. Don't need new tracks and new springs. None are broken or worn out. No electric motors involved. Hand lift. Yes, I can understand if putting a heavy door on a light spring or a light door on a heavy spring. But this is not the case. Same. Same. I'll keep seeking an independent guy/gal. |

Try calling Michael at Laurent Overhead Door. He's located on Messer Street in Laconia. 524-4778
With the correct measurements and door information he can supply you with what you are looking for in regards to just the door section. Is this section wood or metal? If it's wood it might be a little harder to get because it's a lot older. Is the door a Wayne Dalton door or some other manufacturer? It helps to know this info when you call him. Do you know who installed it? Unless you're changing the door weight or the springs are worn, you won't need to change the springs. You might need new hinges and/or rollers but that should be it. He'll give you a fair price and won't charge you for what you don't need. Hope this helps! |

Chris Patten in Wolfeboro does overhead doors. He works out of his home. I assume he will do doors only, but I don't know that. I looked up his number for you, it is under Cindy. 569-0263. You could call and talk to him anyway.

Thanks for all of the suggestions.
I did contact Chris and did have an appointment. But he cancelled. I did find: WeatherStrong Overhead Doors. 603-536-7227. Brian. He showed up. Provided an estimate. Installed doors as scheduled. Showed up on time. Good reasonable price. Brian owns his own business. He is an expert in garage doors. Installation and repairs. I had three replacement garage doors installed. Insulated garage doors with some windows. Guarantee one year. Garage doors work perfectly. And look beautiful. A quality job. |

Anyone have any updates to the above installers? I'm going to be getting an estimate to put in better, more insulated, doors. Any brand advice would be welcome. Looking for rustic, wood-like door compatible with cedar shake Adirondack style. No plastic looking doors need apply. Thanks in advance.
