The upcoming storm front made for a productive and fun day on the ice!!
We were on the ice at 6:00 A.M. ready for action but unfortunately there was none to be had until 11:30 A.M. We were completely flagless and dead for 5 1/2 hours until the barometer started dropping, then all hell broke loose! For the next 2 1/2 hours we had flag after flag go up running us ragged then it just died off as quickly as it came. In that 2 1/2 hours we landed 11 fish, 4 lakers, 4 salmon (which were cut off at the hole) and 3 bass. The bass were really good sized and I was surprised we caught them considering where we were. We also had many hit and runs which killed a lot of our bait. Another very fun and enjoyable day on the lake!! Probably only a couple weekends left at best before we have to pull off the ice for good and wait for ice out for spring salmon fishing! We kept one laker which we felt wouldn't make it and everything else was returned to the big lake. Here's my brother in law with the laker we kept.
