We had no problem with traffic. We left Tuftonboro at 5:00 pm, saw a slight increase in race traffic at both Alton Circle and Epsom Circle. We stayed on route 28 into Allenstown and got on the Everett TPK just north of Manchester. Tool boths were a breeze. Two and a half hours home in central MA is normal for us. Last year we left later and went through Concord. Though they manage traffic well, it was still backed up.

Default What Traffic?!??!

My brother and I left Tuftonboro @ 9:45 sharp, went through Alton and Epsom circles and then reverted to a cherished "old" route down 28/3 to Hooksett -- thereby totally avoiding Concord/Loudon. We made the MA border in 1:38, and posted a new family record -- door to door from Melvin to my house in an astounding 6:46 (and this included filling an empty tank in Wolfe City and sitting down for lunch in CT.

The gauntlet has been thrown down, the line drawn in the sand, the lofty standard set. Other family members now quake in our presence. (Best of all, he and I can no longer compete for 'best time' since we were both in the car. Now, if I can only replicate this feat with my wife, four kids, and dog in the family truckster...)

Question Why is that?

Grant, no, matter how well you plan, put in advance warning, if a women is riding with you, you can never get from here to there without taking forever!! I have succombed to taking seperate vehicles. "See ya there!" I know this would be difficult for you, but maybe you and your brother in one vehicle and the wives, kids, and dogs in the other.

Default Race traffic was no problem

Congratulations to the NH State Police!

Last evening, we left Laconia at 5:30 PM after watching the race on TV at the lake. Drove home on I-93 to the North Shore of Massachusetts and saw no noticable increase in traffic in Concord or in the two-lane section of I-93 south of Manchester. Whatever problem existed in the past has been addressed. None of the predicted "nighmares" developed.

To me, the race traffic for the September Nascar race is a complete non-issue.
