Hi, my lake cottage is located at the end of a curving, fairly narrow driveway and has one steep hill. The cottage has an oil burning forced hot air furnace and I need to fill the tank. Does anyone know of a local oil company that would be willing or able to deliver to a plowed, but snow covered driveway explained above? Maybe one with a six wheel drive? I am located in the Meredith area.

in Tilton always had the knack to deliver in unforeseen places. I think Fred Fuller bought them out. You may want to see if they still do crazy deliveries.

I have a kind of long, steep driveway. Fred Fuller delivers but will not go down unless it is sanded. I have a reliable guy who sands for me now, that's what it took for me.....

...but the oil companies will be very careful as to slippery roads and driveways. Even though they carry insurance, one of the last things an oil company wants is to see their company named splattered all over the TV and over the radio airwaves regarding one of their trucks sliding off the road / driveway and spilling some of their load. Not good publicity.

Ok, thanks for the replies and suggestions. I'll call the ones mentioned. Maybe they will be willing to inspect the driveway before they attempt a delivery. I would think there is at least one company with "challenging" access capabilities.

As a builder we figure that if a concrete truck made it, And if a Fire truck or Rescue vehicle has access then a fuel delivery truck shouldn't be a problem.

Who did your previous oil deliveries? Surely they would be interested in retaining the business.

So just to follow up, I did end up contacting a local oil company who came to look at the access and ok'd me for a delivery. The oil came today. Don't know the rules about plugging a company so I'll leave it that. Very happy to have a full tank!

I started to reach for the phone to call right now, 1030 at night, to leave a message about getting a delivery. Then I saw the data was in April and October of 2009! ![]() ![]() ![]() Did have a current price from Dutile and CN Brown for Kero.
