Would that tide go from one side of the lake to the other or from the center to the edges? |

We left the ocean behind (for boating that is) about 4 years ago, started coming to Winni, and never looked backed. I'd say "How 'bout going to the lake Saturday?" My wife would ask "When's high tide?" "Whenever you want!" I'd answer back. And it's true, coming from an ocean background, always checking the tide chart for launch times; it's great never having to worry about it.

The tide Rise and Fall south of Cape Cod is around 3-5 feet every 5 hours or so. The tide Rise and Fall North of Cape Cod is around 11 feet. Results may very from place to place.
Further north..... in the Bay of Fundy, (East of Maine and just this side of Nova Scotia) the tide Rise and Fall is 40 feet. Just a little tidbit of knowledge for those that don't know.... ![]() |

Forget the math. For comfort you're going to want to eye-ball it anyway. I suggest coming at it from the south (bay) side because if you come in from the Weirs it is a long slow crawl out the channel if you don't like what you see.
Good luck! |
