Al was a wonderful man, who truly loved the Big Lake, and the culture around it. I remember his great sense of humor - he was a lot of fun, in person and on the forum. He also cared about the area; it was more than a vacation spot to him. His is a life to celebrate - I'm sure this is a very difficult time for his family and friends, but he left quite an impact on us here - he will be missed. I will raise a glass tonight, and light a candle. Peace.

I had the pleasure to talk with Al at a number of Forum Fests. I also e-mailed with him as I was in radio at one point in my early life and he was in radio for many years. He grew up in Saugus MA and I in Melrose so we found a connection there. His dad was a Dr. and mine a pharmacist so that was another connection we made. He loved staying at the Silver Sands Motel and kept his boat in a slip next door. I will miss all of his humor, insight, love for the lake and love for the people he met. He was such a wonderful person and will be sorely missed by many including myself. My deepest sympathies and condolences to his family.

Default Good bye

Captain:

You made a great impression on a lot of people. Some you knew, some you did not. That is quite a legacy.

So as you cross the bar I wish you sunny skies, fair winds and calm seas.

Our prayers are with you.

Misty Blue.
