Default A sad loss

Mary K was such a nice person and a character at the same time. I stayed at the Shalimar 13 years in a row with my wife and kids. Got to know her, and I always looked forward to seeing her behind that check in desk. She will be missed.
There was a man named Bob White who also worked there for a long time and he was great also. Does anyone know what happened to him ? I know he had some health problems and retired.
Its a shame that the Shalimar is heading in the direction it is. Mary wouldnt be happy about it !
Well I will always have those fond memories of the Shalimar, Mary, and Bob. Some of my most cherished times.
I still have some purple pens !!!
Thank You Mary.
Thank you Bob.

Default Robert 'Bob' White

Another blast from the past! He use to manage the restaurant and lounge at Brickyard and became Mary's companion after George's death.

He use to race in the Lightning class with my Dad back in the days. My dad had him over to the cottage and I was able to enjoy some of his stories. A wonderful man. I believe he lives in Center Harbor at the time. I think he is still with us in Laconia NH.

Bob White teamed with Jack Hackett to open the Foxy Johnny. Jack Hackett use to spend many evening at the lounges at Brickyard and Margate. Jack use to own a chain of oyster restaurants down the Atlantic Coast.

I think Bob opened a restaurant in Chelmsford Mass at one time and sold it.

There was a Bob White's in Chelmsford, might of even been North Chelmsford, right off the Drum Hill Rotary. Spent many a lunch hour there years ago when I worked down the street

Just noticed on our way home from the Lake on Sunday ......

Looks like the Shalimar is now an Econo-Lodge !

There was a temporary sign hung over/covering the Shalimar large sign in the parking lot
