If you are driving down the Neck Road, look at Davidson's field (right before the substation). It really is ridiculous.

I love that trail, that is a beautiful area. Let us know if we can help somehow.

I don't own a "sled" but have a question. How does riding them work, well what I mean is can anyone use "marked" trails or are you supposed to join (that) local club to ride on the trails? I've "kicked the tires" looking at them in the past but never really knew about the riding situation, where their allowed, etc. Obviously I know to keep off private marked property but are marked trails open to anyone that happens to stumble upon them?

You don't need to be a member of the club who's trails it belongs to, but you do need to Register your sled and get a sticker for it, to ride on any trial designated for snowmobiles in NH. Joining a club helps keep a part of the registration money local for the club, and it saves you a little on the registration fee. You can Legally only ride an unregistered snowmobile on your own Private Property. There are Thousands of miles of trails to explore so Stop kickin the tires and do it! It's a blast, if we ever get snow. Check the trails below. Zoom in to find lake winni then check out the thousands of miles

There are almost 7000 miles of trails in NH alone, all are maintained by local clubs or in a few cases, the NH Bureau of Trails. In Moultonborough we have approximately 70 miles of marked and groomed trails.

Weather permitting I groom Friday and Saturday overnight (4-7 hours depending if I decide to go up and over Red Hill) and usually cover a shift or two on the Skelley's side of town (a bit less than two hours). If you or any other forum member wants to go for a ride along, let me know. We use Tucker Sno-Cats, they are comfortable and heated!

There is an extra cost added on the registration if you're not a club member. I prefer to be an actual member than to just pay the extra cost. Last I checked it was basically a wash either way.

You are correct, it is close- last I checked there was a 30 dollar discount per sled, with club membership cost being $35 (in our case). $10 goes to the NH Snowmobile Association.
