Maybe the coast caught the brunt of the storm, at most we had heavy snow for 30 minutes in the afternoon.

Not sure where you are, but we measured 17.7 inches over the duration of the storm here in Townsend, MA. Between 7:35 and 8:30 in the morning, we got 3.5" of snow. The next hour, the snow rate was 2.5". Since it was very light, fluffy snow, it quickly compacts to nothing in a day.
