The graph speaks for it self. It appears to be the number of Coronavirus cases vs the rest of the world over a 2 month period. Nothing about testing. It is strictly cases. Maybe the graph didn't show the results. Or maybe the graph to open for you.

It just proves that Trump is right, we are #1 in the world.

This is a statistic that can be manipulated according to your agenda. The graph is missing vital information. The first thing missing, and maybe the most important is each country's POPULATION. The graph is comparing the amount of positive cases with no mention of population. Do you think it would be relevant to know the US has 330 million people; while Italy has 60 million, Spain 47 million and Germany 83 million?

Also, as mentioned above, testing is important to understand. The more tests performed the more positive cases. This is especially important with such a contagious virus that can be asymptomatic in one and deadly in another.

Hopefully we(and the world) are turning the corner. As we see a decline in hospitalizations and deaths we can assume things are improving.

We don't need no stinkin' statistics and data.

Let's all have a big rally together at the commons. And invite all of our visitors from NY and NJ and MA.

Open everything !

Fun. Fun. Fun.

You and I agree. Let's open everything immediately! If you're under 65 and healthy, and are unfortunate enough to contract the certain death sentence Chinese coronavirus, there is a 0.02 percent chance or most likely less you could die, the same as with the certain death sentence flu. If you are over 65 and/or have an underlying condition, then the responsibility is yours to be safe and to make sure that those around you are safe, the same that you would do during flu season or if someone you knew had the flu. Heard immunity is the fast track to getting this behind us.

Another favorite saying of mine is lies, damn lies and statistics. Smart people can manipulate data, create charts and curves, and do most anything to support a position or policy. I prefer to look at the raw numbers. This is a bad flu year, nothing more.

I will say that we do not seem to be doing a particularly good job in protecting elderly in nursing homes. How can this be? With all the social distancing, sheltering in place, masks, gloves, etc.? Maybe we're just making it up as we go and nobody has the answers. Just a thought.

Anyone who believes China's numbers are real is either an ideologue or addled.

What do the numbers of China have to do with it? Should we be proud what US numbers are?

Dawg, For someone who thinks this site has caused a lot of bitterness you sure as hell know how to stir the pot. Hope you are proud of starting a thread that will only go into the gutter.

As I suspect you know...China's numbers are higher than ours thus spoiling your snarky premise That the USA leads the world and exposes your Trump hit job.

It's one thing to post info, it's another thing to keep up this political nonsense that the owner of this site has said repeatedly that he does not want. Get it now?

My apologies for starting this thread. It was wrong! I didn't intend to have it go negative. Some one once said emails or written words can be taken incorrectly and this type of information can be misinterpreted.

Webmaster please take this tread down. It was a mistake. Thank you!

I'm curious, how is it negative? Isn't it okay to debate the meaning of the curves?

Or perhaps, it is negative when you countermand the popular position? Like the California doctors? YouTube admitted it took down the video because it did not support the shelter in place orders. Whether you support what is being done to us or you don't, this should scare all of us. Suppressing free speech and different ideas is not good, regardless of political affiliation.

It does scare me...my husband, too.....we should all be outraged at the power of YouTube, Google, Facebook, and many others. Shrugging it off is not the solution.

But it is also scary that these platforms can be manipulated by professional agitators to spread misinformation systematically. They are much more vulnerable to this than traditional media. This technique has been used by the right, the left, and the just plain wrong.

They manipulate every day, no matter what side you're on. They are sites that add fuel to the fire, along with the real news source, Twitter.

Regardless of the threads? Where are you seeing that in the General Discussion, Boating, Restaurants, Home Cottage or Land Maintenance, History, Wildlife, Pets, Fishing. etc. areas? If you don't like the COVID discussions why not just avoid this one area instead of condemning the entire forum?

The state just to the south of New Hampshire: "Massachusetts suffers a record 252 C-19 deaths on Wednesday, April 29, 2020" ....... google that ...... and it is most likely higher than 252 because that number was reported at 8:41-pm.

Chase dawg, this thread was melded into your other one, which is what my objection was, your topic : “Congratulations, the U.S. is number one” (for being first in Coronavirus cases?) That’s not it, word for word, but the topic was negative and sure to receive the reaction it did from many forum members.
