Almost every night our neighbor's swim raft hosts a flock of mergansers. They leave their thank you notes before they leave in the early morning. 🐻

Ha! We currently have a group of 20 Mergansers that love to rest on our swim raft daily. I feel your pain.

	Good luck. |

Owls don't seem to work...I've heard that rubber snakes work well for birds

We has that same problem with ducks pooping all over our poly and before that wood swim raft. When we replaced the swim raft with a water trampoline, no more ducks or other birds go on the trampoline, at least so far in the past few years. Don't know if it is the increased height above the water or that they don't like the jumping surface. Sure hope that continues.

My neighbors had this problem. I wasn't too upset for them since they were fairly obnoxious.

Their problem ended when the price of sardines went up...

![]() One raft nearby has a rubber iguana, about two feet long. Although iguanas are herbivores, I haven't seen a bird on that raft.

I had all kinds of birds attacking my fruit trees but they mostly stopped after I hung a few old compact disks in the branches. apparently they hate the spinning reflected light.

just found this gizmo which seems cheap enough to try and could prob be found for less or DIY even cheaper https://www.birdbgone.com/reflect-a-bird-deterrent/ |

The merganser clan welcomed the faux owl our neighbors installed on their diving raft. 🐻
