Realtor Follow Up?

I found my own house and jumped on it. I just used the builder’s realtor during the process and also hired an atty.

The realtors I contacted beforehand when I was searching were worthless.

My experience is that there are specialists within the industry. Some are listers, some are sellers, some are buyer brokers, and some are retired from some other industry and just want an office to go to. Do a little screening. Hiring the first licensed person who answers the phone may not be the best person for you. Being competent and aggressive in today's market is a lot different than the market from 2+ years ago.

When we were looking, we worked with a guy. I do not recall his name.
I do not think he wanted to work. Often I would contact him with listings from Zillow.

We ended up switching to Luceen from Coldwell banker.
She was great.

We used Bob Williams of Caldwell Banker in Moltonboro three times over the years. We were in Massachusetts and Florida during each process.

Bob does his job - he communicates !!!

I bought my house in '01. My realtor 'followed up' so much that I got counselled for taking too many personal calls at work.

My family knows better than to call me during work unless it's an emergency. I gave the realtor my cell for the purpose of letting me know if there were issues. As a result, I always answer or respond asap to a call (not so much now that I have caller ID).

I told him not to call short of an emergency because if I got fired I wasn't going to be able to buy the house, pre-purchase agreement not withstanding.

So how does that solve anything?

If you want to receive the calls you now have to carry two phones.

If you don't want to receive the calls you leave the phone at home.

If you no longer want calls from a person it's a heck of lot easier to just block that number. I think some apps can even automatically send specific phone numbers to voice mail.

Or assign a silent ringer to that phone number.

No caller ID and burner phones, are we in the 1990's here or something. Oh wait, it was close to the 1990's the post was regarding 2001 situation. So maybe a burner phone in 2001 was a work around.
