If I had to guess, way, way, WAY more people are self-overserving on their boats than are doing so on The Dive. If you think the drinking and boating problem at the lake is caused by The Dive or other establishments I think you're incorrect. I'd blame Igloo and Coleman for making good coolers before I'd blame licensed, legal bars.

I wouldn't know ; however, when Lake Winnipesaukee's most memorable hit-and-run fatality occurred, overserving was blamed. (Adding that the perpetrator should sue the bar).

The bar could be partially liable for the financial impact of the accident.
But the operator leaving the scene and attempting to cover up the incident is the act of the operator, not the server.

You would still need to drive the boat. But not really the problem.
If they just wanted to serve alcohol, they could supply it with something much smaller and less conspicuous. Even the local country club serves alcohol.
