Getting 90 MBS on Mark Island from the tower on Gunstock. Need good line of sight from the tower but they can bounce the signal around a little. Reliable and easy installation.

Fwiw, another possible alternative is Starlink satellite internet. We put a dish on our roof on Camp Island in early 2021, and service has been very reliably over 100MBS with very few lapses. Zoom calls are stable and have low latency. $99/month + $500 one-time purchase cost.

Caveats are that you must have a fairly wide swath of open northern sky and it does use a fair bit electricity (~75kWh per month!). As we're off-grid and making our own electricity (solar + generator backup), I've considered looking at Hub66 to cut down on electric usage.

Starlink may be more common as they get more satellites in various orbits. We have one neighbor on the north side who plans to use it. In 10 years, "cable" will be like "dial" telephones. If boats, as we see on the coast, can use satellite telephone and internet, there should be no reason we can't on land--except for the trees. But, we need the trees to protect water quality. Hmmm.

Thanks for the response everyone. I'm a little torn, I was having issues with Spectrum, but they were able to fix it. It's been good so far, fingers crossed. We are paying $94.99 a month and getting over 400Mbs service reliably. Hub66 promises up to 1 Gig, but seems no where close from the posts here. I'll watch starlink, but I guess I'll just stick with Charter for now.

Hub66 has been a game changer in the Bristol, NH region. Not only is the service much more reliable than the 15 Mbps DSL we had from Consolidated, it is way faster.

It is finally possible to stream 4K videos and to make Zoom calls with out interruptions.

I would recommend giving Hub 66 a try.

What speeds are you seeing and how are you hooked up?

I have Hub66 on the island and I love their service so far. I see speeds of 100+ Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload.

Same speeds I Shoot308 mentions. We're "connected with a line of sight antenna on a tree to the tower on Gunstock, then cable into the house. On the other side of the island, we're connected via a tower in Meredith. Good WIFI all around the property--on the dock, on the beach. Thick woods may block the signal. Very happy. Signal remains solid when several devices are in service.

Now seeing around 250 Mbps download after upgrading an RF link on the island to fiber optic. It's a rock-steady signal. Very pleased.
