The "croakers" were quiet for a few days here.

But have come back.

Yup. Frogs. "The spring peeper (Pseudacris crucifer)[2] is a small chorus frog widespread throughout the eastern United States and Canada.[3] They are so called because of their chirping call that marks the beginning of spring."

The town of Barrington has a Peeper Fest, including the Peeper Fest 5k road race... it's a 30 year tradition of celebrating the peepers! I lived in Barrington for a long time, and the highlight of watching the 5k was seeing the Catholic nuns from the Rochester Orphanage running in full uniform. Some of them had very bad habits...
