I was told it is supposed to mean "forward" which I suppose is better than "backward" but how that relates to a bank seems unclear. Having to "explain" your logo doesn't speak well for the logo. Of course, Apple's logo doesn't seem to be related to computers either. (Why an apple? Because Steve Jobs followed a fruitarian diet and named the company Apple because he liked the fruit. I guess the company is lucky that Job's wasn't enamored of Kumquats)

The first page of BNH's website talks a lot about "people" and relationships, which is a good marketing approach but how the logo connects to people is ???

In the end, the logo speaks more to the marketing company being good at selling their branding ideas to the bank rather than the logo's relationship to the bank.
