Don't forget about Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol- it's never on TV anymore. It may trigger blind people.

Only if they pretended to be “triggered”. Plus how would they know that Mr. Magog is anything less than 20/20? Your point is well taken though. Thankfully this thread wasn’t titled Holiday Songs. 🤣

Holiday Inn

Little known fact:
Irving Berlin's song 'White Christmas' was NOT debuted in the movie 'White Christmas', as logically thought; but twelve years earlier in the movie 'Holiday Inn', when it won the 1943 Academy Award for Best Original Song.

Holiday Inn is a great movie and inspired the name for the hotel chain! The firecracker dance is the highlight. Sorry for going off topic a tad.

In my house we always watch the following:

- White Christmas
- Holiday Inn
- A wonderful Life
- A Christmas Story
- Die Hard (come on you need a break from the traditional stuff)
- Christmas Carol - Alistar Sims version
- Christmas Carol - George C. Scott version
- Christmas Carol - Patrick Stewart Version
- Scroged - Bill Muray
- The Santa Clause Movies (Tim Allen) (1st one is the best the others well the just are)
- Jingle all the way - (Sinbad, and Arnold)
- Christmas Vacation
- Miracle on 34th street
- Christmas Chronicles - Netflix
- The Claus Family - Netflix
- Klaus - Netflix Animated
- Jingle Jangle - Netflix

Yes Ok so my wife really loves Christmas... and so do I... and well more and more I am starting to look like Santa.... I got asked twice this summer on the boat, if Winnipesaukee was Santa's summer home.... What can I say.....

P.S. yes there are other movies we watch for Christmas, those are just the ones I can think of now.... Basically a movie a night from Thanksgiving to New Years...

Which version of Miracle on 34th Street do you prefer? Also don’t forget the Muppets version of A Christmas Carol!

Christmas Vacation - #1

Muppets Christmas Carol - #2

Die Hard 1 and 2 - #3 I know, I know these aren't really Christmas movies, but they take place at Christmas time and therefor have become enshrined with Christmas.

The Christmas Candle - #4 Released in (2013) I think it has a great story line, plus Samatha Barks looks pretty good in late 1800's attire.

Rankin Bass Christmas movies - #5 There's 19 of them, from the 1st classic "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" released in 1964, to their last "Santa Baby!" released in 2001. Some are better than others, I haven't seen them all but it's a goal of mine, I have 6 to go.

There's a bunch more I like but I'll stop here.

A little gory but very Christmassy.

Thumbs up Classics plus Die Hard, Prancer, Elf

Just had to chime in - I love all the classics mentioned! Plus more recent additions:

Elf - based in NYC - what more to bring back memories growing up in the Tri-City area!

Prancer (1989) A farm girl nurses a wounded reindeer she believes is one of Santa's.
- a heartfelt glimpse at a tough holiday, showing how family pulls tighter, no matter what the odds, to work it out.
"Dad, are we going to starve?"
"Heck no" says her apple orchard Dad, "We have apples...," as he grimly and viciously prunes the trees.
