We gave it another shot on Saturday evening with a party of 9. Food was good and very fast. I am not a fish guy, but the fried fish and the fish tacos looked great. My chicken fingers were good, and the Dox burgers looked solid.
Biggest complaint was the service. Drinks, condiments, etc were slow. We asked to be in the shade as one of our party members was 85 years old. We got stuck in the sun and melted...There were a few tables in covered areas that would have been perfect, they were vacant when we got there and never were sat the whole time. Wasn't impressed about that. Could be a good place if they smooth out a few of the kinks. |

Went to DOX at Winnie last weekend, tried to call ahead for seating, similar to what they do at Winnisquam, they don’t do it there. Left my name with the staff, told it would be over 1 1/2 hour wait, and they’d text us. After an hour plus of no contact called them they said they texted us earlier… to the wrong number. Hostess staff needs some work as from what I saw lots of unhappy customers sick of waiting.
Need call a head seating there, larger tables in bar area, more qualified staff. Or bring back Anthony’s, oh that’s right they got kicked out and moved in to another location under a new name |

Just a hunch, with 2 big eateries/bars now not having a liquor license, I would guess that people would flock to Dox to hang out instead, which would over load them. Also the "it's new" so everyone has to go helps them as well.
Just another way of looking at why they are busy. Myself, I wasn't a fan of their burgers at Winnisquam. I'm going to assume this one is the same? |
