jrc.....zoning is enough, if used properly. I gave you the state of Vermont as an example. I suspect Vermont still has a constitution too. As for the population explosion.....if the goverment ended immigration, legal & illegal, that would go a long way in controling growth, but that's a political decision.
As for this statement by you: "I don't think we should make NH a crappy place to live so people will move elsewhere" Um, what are you getting at ? Something like a Staples or OfficeMax (or non-franchise equivalent) between Meredith and Moultonboro would be nice. The lakes region is becoming more than a tourist spot. As the year round home-office population rises, business services are needed, and its getting expensive to drive from Moultonboro to Gilford for stuff.
