Hi! We have a growing handyman & cleaning business and we are looking to purchase an enclosed 5x8 trailer. Does anyone know of any local dealers? Thank you!

2nd that recommendation. Joe's a standup guy. That said you should shop around a bit. Not all trailers are created equal so understanding what the differences are will help you make an educated decision. Buying just on price point alone in this case may not be advantageous.

We know the family well, hardworking and honest. Good selection of equipment, snowmobile and enclosed trailers. As the wife is a horseback rider they may also add horse trailers.

The advice to shop around is key--my father looked at a bunch of landscape trailers and discovered that for a couple hundred bucks more than most, he could get a super-heavy-duty one that uses steel tubes that are much more solid than the others that typically use angle iron.

BUT, I actually prefer towing my much-lighter-weight aluminum trailer, as what I carry is big but light.

Decide the needs and shop for the best fit.

Alton Motorsports on Rte 28 just up from the Alton traffic circle sells trailers and has a pretty good selection.

You could also check with HK Powersports in Laconia. They have a lot of different styles and size enclosed trailers.

One thing you might consider: On my last small trailer I upgraded to radial tires and LED lights. I have always been concerned with the speed that the small tires must rotate and the heat that they generate. I wanted better quality tires and I also had them balanced right away.

As most people who use trailers often know, working lights are always a problem. That is especially true on boat trailers that get submerged a lot. So far, so good on the LED lights. They have lasted a lot longer than the regular ones usually do.

My experience with LED's for trailers has been disappointing.

The ones I used started off as a a circular matrix of small lights but ended with only a few still lit.

If I were to refit a trailer today I would use incandescent bulbs and carry spares.
