I went by yesterday, and they were not open. They were doing some work on the inside.

New wolfetrap ownership?!!?
We went to the Wolfetrap last night and were shocked to learn it was under new ownership - we met the new owners (well we met the wife of the husband and wife that are the new owners). She told us they bought the wolfetrap, but not the other parts (Wolfe Catch, etc). Similar but new menus, many familiar staff faces; the food was very good.

I believe they bought the business, but not the location (and not the name to "take away", although I am not clear about that).

We went to the Wolfetrap tonight and had a wonderful meal. We met the new owner, who came over and spoke with us for quite a while. He is a very, very nice. friendly person. He is not a stanger to the area as he has friends here and has spent time here, although they are from Mass. The drinks and meals were great! I loved the new menu, lots of choices. We had the fish and chips, salmon and fisherman's platter. The haddock was so flaky, and cooked perfectly. The person who had the scallops in the fisherman's platter said that they were the best he ever had. And the person who had the salmon loved that. Noone had any complaints. And to top it all off it was warm enough to sit outside and look at the the water and boats at the dock. What a great evening with friends.

I've been to the Trap a couple of times and I have had the same experience each time........too much money, horrible service, and average food. I honestly would prefer Jo Green's......yup, I said it.

it is not what is was
I have been to Wolfetrap twice so far this year, and don't like it anymore , Crabcakes used to be great, now just average and they only give you one, not two like they used to. They no longer serve the mussel appetizer with thai coconut milk which was my absolute favorite mussel dish of all time. And the first dinner, we had lobster roll that was served with a nice cup of yummy cole slaw, but on my second trip, we were told that the lobster roll does not come with cole slaw. Sorry but I cannot eat a whole side dish size order of slaw, it's too much for me, so I didn't get to have any. Don't think we will be going back which is too bad; they were my favorite place in WB.
