One loon seen several times on the west side of Welch over the past week. Always nice to see them.

Default Great Blue Herons

The great blue herons are back, as well. Saw my first one on Friday, April 15th. Just in time to file his taxes.

This past weekend was like being in a nature center in out area. Saw an otter, couple ducks, Blue Heron, Loons, Geese and heard a Barred owl behind our camp. Seen traces of deer, but haven't actually seen them yet this year.

Took a walk up behind my house early this morning to listen for the loons. Stepped in a nice pile of deer poop on the way up, of course I decided today I would wear sandals. No bueno.

At least sandals are easy to wash

Default Loons on Rattlesnake

We were out on the island this weekend, and saw a lot of loon activity - much more than I ever remember seeing at one time. There were several pair flying over and around our end, and then there were 2 individual loons scoping out the area flying low and fast. Wonder if they were trying to establish their territories. Also saw a pair of Mergansers and a large deer in WAM by the barges

Last week the peepers were singing pretty loud near my house.
