Dr Misuewicz in Meredith off of the Rte 3, 106 rotary. He spends time with you listening to your concerns and answering all questions. Thorough examination and keeps up with medical news. Knows the network well in Central NH.

I agree... Dr. Joseph Misiewicz, MD is an amazing primary care doctor. He has the time for patients and last minute care.

I've noticed that PCP docs that are part of a "hospital group" never have time or appointments available.

Twice last year, I drove to ConvenientMD Urgent Care because my PCP at the Lakes Region General Hospital affiliated Internal Medicine practice in Laconia couldn't see me; they said go to ER, "if it's that bad."

I wound up having the FLU and wanted to get Tamiflu within it's recommended 3-day window of the Rx being effective.

No thanks to the LRGH Internal Medicine practice on Spring Street, I was able to see a physician at the ConvenientMD and get the proper Rx and follow up needed. It wasn't an "emergency" in the ER sense, but it was an emergency to me.

Until LRGH gets taken over by a real hospital, they are just a bunch of lawsuits in the making.... just read the past years problems in the news. They can't keep doctors and every PCP seeing new patients is a ARPN or PA...

As with any PCP, you'll be referred to a specialist if needed, ie: Dartmouth or CMC for the best care in the state.

I wonder whether any family doctors in the lakes region make house calls any more?

When I was a kid our family doctor came to our home to treat me when I was ill, but I suspect such a business practice has gone the way of the dodo bird.

Actually, as a business model, physician home visits have increased in recent years. It is not exactly the old family doc, but it is true. This IS off topic but the subject is easily researched on Google if you are interested.
