Default Two Days to Alton Bay!

School gets out on Tuesday, finally, are we heading north first thing Wednesday morning. We can hardly wait to experience those cool, clear mornings, the great views, and that refreshing H2O.

So long, Jersey, hello NH!

I've been up 3 times so far, but never longer than a weekend. Next week I'm going up for a longer period of time.

The water IS refreshing. I went in last Friday and got used to it in hardly any time.

Jersey Girl:

I grew up in Jersey; my family has been coming up to the Lake since the 30's, originally as tent campers in Lake Shore Park.

The anticipation was always tremendous, the trip time consuming (pre-interstate days) and the experience memorable.

Penny candy, community toilets, getting drinking water from the hand pump at the Pavillion.

So, now almost all of the family has moved to the Lake, in order to live year round that which attracted them previously.

Not me though, I went West, and never looked back.

I usually spend a couple weeks at the Lake though, to see family, swim, relax and search out that penny candy...

Enjoy your vacation, and as you cross the Tappan Zee bridge, groan and start the countdown to next year.

I have been going to NH before i was born. My mother was pregnant with me in 1980 when she went up there. I have been going there since I was 7. In 1988 . I have been going every year since. Its been a tradition. The countdown starts in January lol I will be here in 10 days. Its a trip worth the wait cause it goes fast.

Talking I can relate...

I bet you are just dying to get up here. I'm originally from Toms River and still have family and friends in the area there.

Even though I moved here 12 years ago, I STILL find it extremely difficult to leave here and drive down for occasional visits. This is certainly the place to be!

Default Hey Jersey Girl

I was born and grew up in NJ.My family went to the lake for the month of August for many, many years. Each trip back as we came to the "Welcome to New Jersey" sign my Dad would count to 3 and we'd all give it the "raspberries". He loved the lake and New England so much he finally moved the family up to "God's country".

Default It's Spanish

For "I am a helmet."

My family has been going up to the lake for over 40 years. One of my great-(great?) uncles built the house with his sons. Now my immediate family has a house and it's awesome because we're so centralized on the lake.

See you all on the water!

Smile New Hampshire Air in a bottle!

There should be some way to put some of the exquisite New Hampshire air in a bottle. You guys in Jersey think it's hot and can't wait to get to Lake Winni, you ought to be down here in this " oven" called Florida. We won't get to the lake until mid-August and again in September, but we sure wish we were there now. God Bless all of you lucky folks at "paradise"!
