The surroundings are sharp, unlike American postcards of the 1950s and 1960s. No touchups are noted.
Color film was introduced to the public in 1942.
So, maybe, the card is photochrome. Or maybe it is some other process--maybe European/German.
'Sure would like to see the other side of the card--and the postmark! (Please).

Are postcards your thing or was this from google university?
In hand it certainly does not feel as if it is a photograph. Its some form of artwork that may have started with capturing an image with a lens. Kinda nice.
This "post card" is actually in a packet of images of the lake that you would mail just the same as a postcard. Quite nice.
Last Sunday I posted the back side one.
Maybe next week I will do something like a page with the description of the lake the area and a list of islands.
