Just where would it be steaming/starting from?

The surroundings are sharp, unlike American postcards of the 1950s and 1960s. No touchups are noted.

Color film was introduced to the public in 1942.

So, maybe, the card is photochrome. Or maybe it is some other process--maybe European/German.

'Sure would like to see the other side of the card--and the postmark! (Please).

Created on my tiny Smartphone. This was "work".
Thanks for you interest.
Are postcards your thing or was this from google university?
In hand it certainly does not feel as if it is a photograph. Its some form of artwork that may have started with capturing an image with a lens. Kinda nice.

This "post card" is actually in a packet of images of the lake that you would mail just the same as a postcard. Quite nice.

Last Sunday I posted the back side one.
Maybe next week I will do something like a page with the description of the lake the area and a list of islands.

I do like the where is it cards?......

OK new info

I have another card nearly identical. Coloring is a little different. But same image. This card has a border that says "a view of lake winnipesaukee and the White Mountains.

I've never seen it happen- but maybe coming back from Alton Bay heading north- Sleepers Island the small one, and Rattlesnake behind it? The elevation of the island makes me think of Rattlesnake. Of course it's a painting, so I'm guessing it's not at scale?
