Suggestions for a battery 'triple charge' unit

Looking for suggestions for a battery 'trickle charge' device for cars in winter storage. Need to buy 2, so looking for reasonable priced units.

If you fake the batteries out of the cars, you connect them and use one charger

I have two of these. Work great with the battery in or out, or for the car if not being used, say, for a month. Can’t beat the price.

Harbor Freight often shows their little battery trickle charger at $6.95. I've got three or four of these. Not powerful for a quick charge (or start), they'll still charge a dead battery overnight.

All purchases are shipped for $8, so the shipping is more costly than the item!

(So, order more stuff).

Harbor Freight opened a store in Concord across from WalMart on August 15th. It is still a drive but closer than Manchester. I went there this morning and was the only customer in the store.

The aforementioned trickle chargers are on sale this month--just $4.99

No tax for NH purchases. Get one for every car and boat...

I've got three heavy-duty chargers, but they all date from the 1960s and 70s. They're heavy, so they don't get moved around much. One failed charger was a bright orange (6 amp?) charger I'd bought just three years ago.

These little chargers are handy—tucked into a glove box, tool box, or battery-storage shelf. Keep them dry.

Can this battery tender be used, attached for several months, In my case this could possibly be for 3-4 months...... I believe the 'Float Mode' option allows for long term storage, without overcharging....... My concern would be for failure, which may cause a fire potential.

I ask the same question to the Forum community as well......

Not answering for Salty but yes you can leave your battery plugged in as long as you want as it is a maintainer / charger. No harm will come to your battery with this unit. Be careful and leary of cheaper models and brands...

They make a less expensive 1.5A one, but both of these are very flexible: 6 and 12 volt; trickle or fast charge; gel, AGM, and standard battery charging; and clips or rings. I might suggest buying one better charger and just moving it over every month.

I use this for my trolling motor, tractor, golf cart, and jetski batteries.

An alternative was mentioned above in the Battery Tender, which you can get for $35 or so, but only maintains.

In either case, I think anything related to battery chargers is worth spending a couple bucks more on for a quality unit.
