Smile Thanksgiving Anyone?

I know we're about to celebrate Easter, but has any one spent Thanksgiving and/or Christmas at the lake. It doesn't count if you live in the Lakes Region but feel free to leave your message (don't want to discriminate).

We spent one Thanksgiving on Bear Island. It was incredible. Huge dinner, long walk among the leaves after, crisp, clean Autumn air. Our water was off for the season so we had to do the dishes and get cleaned up with boiled water carried in five gallon buckets from the lake. Our big boat was out for the season too, so we had to use an eleven foot dinghy with a ten hp motor (I think it took at least four trips to get family and food across) but the whole weekend was more an adventure than a burden. I think I was twelve at the time and it's something I'll never forget. I would love to do it now and share it with my girlfriend and her three kids. And, as anyone who spends time at the lake during late fall, it was so peaceful-almost eerily quiet.

So, I would love to hear from you guys. Thanks.
