	 | First Really Nice Boating Day in May!

Accuweather shows Saturday as 76 and Mostly Sunny.. Hopefully this isn't a tourist forecast but looks to be the first great day this boating season. (not forgetting Easter weekend, but that really isn't considered "boating season") So lets hear them... What's everyone's plans... Hopefully you will be out on the water. I am taking Friday off and towing up. I should spend the day cleaning, buffing and detailing the inside / outside of the boat and should spend the entire day on the water Saturday. Planning on burning an entire tank and criss crossing the lake multiple times. Been waiting all winter so really can't wait. Who will be out there to join?

We will be out on Saturday for a few hours before we have to return home. But we don't go far yet. We are newbies. I was saying to my husband last weekend when we were out that I wish they had signs you could post on your boat that said "Careful Newbie on the water" and the boat now has her name on it "Lucy Goose" . We will be sticking to the Melvin area and the broads probably. See you all out there. |

The boat came out of storage Saturday. I will be detailing this week for a possible Sunday splash. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. I have my granddaughter's first communion Saturday.

I just got the new shurhold buffing and waxing system as seen on ship shape TV. Really hoping it works as great as I have heard. Can't wait to try the dual action polisher with the buff magic products. Anyone else ever use them? I have always used Leverage products in the past. They worked great but people have sworn by the Buff Magic products so we shall see which is better.

Got word from Thurston's Monday that my boat was all prepped, buffed and in the water. Planning to take Friday afternoon off to go through my normal prep - cleaning the interior, treating the vinyl, getting vests etc back on board. Then heading back up Saturday with the family for first day of cruising. Should be a great way to spend a birthday!

Engines with forced injection (blower/supercharger or turbocharger) generally require higher octane gas to run properly. Since he dropped the supercharger as part of an engine rebuild, his engine is now NA (naturally aspirated) ie: a normal engine and can run on lower octane (cheaper) gas.

It sure was not nice today when I picked up my new boat at Shep Brown's! 39 degrees and raining. Put it through it's paces for about 30 minutes and that was enough. Towed it 103 miles home to MA. |

The Eagle's nest in Moultonborough Bay is a good place to hang out and meet other forum members. The nest is HUGE this year. Now and then, the eagle puts on a show. It would be nice to have a forum flag so you could identify those who you might know.

Gatto, are you serious, someone stole your dock. Who does these things. Good luck on the investigation, I would think that the value would get you above the slap on the wrist threshold. BTW, OCD the boat looks sweet, good luck on the water this year. |

OCD and all those out on the lake this weekend I am envious. Since I just got a new "Little" 14' boat (Just Sold Jr.) I will be working on it this weekend. I have not had time to register the trailer or the boat yet either. This week though. Just think of me at home doing repairs and polishing the hull and interior. The trailer is a fully restored 1970 Tee Nee so that is all set.

Everyone needs to go boating! Maybe out on the water we'll escape the black fly swarms! Thankfully it was very windy today, enough to stop lots of boating. But also the flies! If you stepped anywhere out of the wind, you were attacked big time! Not sure which I prefer. |

That is pretty sad that someone would stoop so low as to steal docks! Is this a new fad? I hope not! We are all so trusting around here, leaving boats just tied, not chained ---and who would think someone would have to worry about their dock????? I am in shock!!

	 | A Wrong-Address-Repo?

			1) Tis, if I were you, I'd put a lock on gas tanks. (If you recall last year's surprise). 2) It's not unknown for a bank to take "repossession" on the water. (Though repossession of a dock is stretching that point!) Maybe there should be a requirement for putting one's street address on everything we own, including on the shoreline? 3) Those fortunate enough to have an aluminum boat (like FLL) should benefit from enhanced warmth from sunshine; however, I was just about to step out and enjoy the purported sunshine, when a huge dark cloud covered up the sky as far as I can see. (Westward). Even if it does warm up later—it's 56° presently at 9:10AM—the cool lake will put a chill on boaters. (So keep a jacket handy). |

What a GREAT weekend! I hope everyone enjoyed the lake as well! Great seeing a bunch of forum members and awesome time running with you Onlywinni. Was very surprised at the lack of boating traffic. It was really empty out there! Good seeing you Liforelaxin. Thank you for the pit stop as well. I burnt pretty much an entire tank.. We did a bunch of rides (my 2 year old couldn't get enough) Down to Shibleys for lunch on Saturday. Great time. Over to Rattlesnake and up to Braun Bay.. Only 3 boats there?? Under Long Island Bridge. Pretty much one side to the other.... Boat ran perfectly! Couldn't have asked for a better time. Well she is out now and having the dash cut up to make way for the new GPS.. Looking forward to doing the install next weekend!

Great to see you and that Beauty of a boat on Sat...Never saw an A/T in person and now I know what you mean about handling big chop better than my Outlaw-can see it in the hull design. I should have snapped some pics when we were skipping across the Broads Sat, but I was too busy with a Grin on my Face being back out there for the first time this season. We were out again for a few hours yesterday-great weekend. Met quite a few nice people in Alton and Meredith this weekend and talked boats and the lake.

Great bunch of people out on the water this weekend for sure. I met a few as well. I did take a spin out yesterday but just a lesiurely cruise with my father and son. Pulled her out and off to the shop to have the GPS installed. I few more weekends of work and she will be up to my standards. I am not sure of the weather or if I will get all my projects done next weekend but if you are around and would like to swing up my way, there is plenty of room at my dock for you.

	 | Meredith Meeting

Anyone know if there was some big cruiser meet-up at the Meredith town docks this past Sat ? Seemed like a disproportional amount of them there. I saw they weren't all the same make so it wasn't like a SeaRay round-up. IO was able to retrieve the Mee'n'Mac from her winter rest spot late Sun. Cloudy but otherwise nice out on the water. Very few boats out and about. From Meredith to Alton Bay I might have seen 10. The air off the water was refreshing (aka chilled) and it was interesting that when I made a swing by the sandbar the air off the land must have been 20 degrees warmer. Coming down Alton Bay you got alternating waves of warm and cold air.

So here I am Saturday tied up at the docks next to the sidewalk where they keep the fire boat enjoying my ice cream. It did seem like the good weather brought a lot of people to the dock in their cruisers to enjoy cocktail hour at the Town Docks. In the 15 minutes I was there two couples stopped to chat about my little 18 foot bowrider and to compare it to the monster cruiser parked behind me (my boat looked like its life boat). Fortunately I don't suffer from any boating inadequacy. Both couples asked about how much gas my boat used vs the cruiser. They thought my 4 gallons per hour was a lot. I couldn't even guess what the cruiser burned.

OK Scott, I've kept quiet all winter.....congrats on all the work on the boat. I talked with Steve and Karen at length Friday night after they dropped off Sammy...dinner w/ them at the White Mountain Hotel.. He's killing me! You are starting to make me jealous with the pictures. I'm getting a little ancy with you telling everyone they are all playing "catch up", I can't wait to get in the water!! You're killing me telling me you went to Shibley's for lunch last weekend (family's favorite for lunch)! Just kidding.....seriously, I will probably tow my beast up next weekend to Ossipee...weather doesent' look the best but we definitely need to get together!!! If I'm not boating I would at least like to come over and take a look at the AT up close. I have your home phone but not the cell, shoot me a pm with it and hopefully we can hook up. This should be a good year....finally. (BTW, I still have some props for you to try...I think I may have something that will at least try to fill the void of the hair dryer). Again congrats, she looks great!! |

This weekend is going to be busy. I have a good friend coming up for the weekend to help me fix a couple odds and ends on the boat (little electrical items) and another good friend who is coming up on Saturday morning to hook up my GPS. I am hoping for good weather so we can go out on the lake and head somewhere for lunch. It would be cool if you can get yours in the lake!!! If not Feel free to come by on Friday anytime (I will be waxing and buffing weather permiting. coming up Friday morning) Should be working on her Saturday morning and pulling her on Sunday. Will shoot you my cell # Maybe we can get onlywinni and a few others out on the lake to meet up with us?

Sounds great. I'm thinking of blowing off work Friday...if possible, wouldn't want to get in trouble with the boss (ha). I was actually in South Carolina when you went down to pick it up...I almost offered to tow it back for you but I know how it it is to get it back and your need for a test drive!! I was about 3 hours ahead of you going over the GW bridge (nightmare in the Denali never mind towing a boat!!). I would love to meet some of these forum members out on the lake. I'm not much of a poster (lurking a long time) but they all seem like great people, I truly am jealous! I hear SL is making an attempt on your GPS? I'll talk to you soon. Bob |

Everyone I have met on here are absolutely great people. You have to be somewhat careful of a few people that only appear from time to time to stir the pot but they won't ever want to meet up so no worries. Actually it was a forum member I had met the offered to install the GPS. He is top notch! However SL will be there to help with the other small items and I will also be doing an oil change (5 hours on the new engine) you know how that goes!

That way you are right there to put her in on Saturday! You could even come by Friday nite for a fire. There may be a few forum members around as well who may come by. I am thinking if the weather holds up and we get the GPS in, heading to the Naswa. Do you think you small laker (ossipee) can do that?

I'll try to "Convince" him. Sounds like I really need to meet "Onlywinni" although I must admit being a Checkmate owner, especially on OSO, I shouldn't even be mentioning Baja's Obviousle kidding, Onlywinni, from the pics I've seen that's one of the sharpest I've seen yet! Actually almost bought a 25 Outlaw myself before my boat (have to say that's one of the nicest I've seen around). |

Apparently the abductors of my dock have seen the errors of their ways and saw fit to return it to its proper place at the front of my property. I think the threat of the blacklist straightened them out.

Caught red handed! That pic was actually from this afternoon as they were returning it. I watched them live as they did it. At least they had the decency to completely put the dock in place, boards and all, for summer use. I had left it tilted up for winter storage and the boards stacked next to the house. I guess there's something to be said for considerate thieves .

OCD We won’t be up to the island for another two weeks. The boat is still shrink-wrapped in the yard. For now I will have to live vicariously through winni.com. We are on the non-wimpy side of Rattlesnake, we are used to (and enjoy) being buzzed. Proud member SBONH |

	 | WOW, what a difference!

Last weekend: Beautiful weather, boat had no problems, very relaxing....... One week later how everything can change. Friday little windy but no worries speant 5 hours washing and waxing. Strung a line over the boat and put up a tarp in case of rain.... Not that is was going to needed, WMUR called for cloudy skies with a chance of a passing thunder shower in the afternoon. Wasn't that a T.F.! Tourist Forecast. Speant all day under a tarp in the cold rain with (god bless them) two great friends installing electronics on the boat (gps, compass, meter, etc etc) Well first thing we smell is fuel and a lot of it. I thought I had over filled the tank some how and the fumes had built up under the tarp. After inspecting everything I find gas in the bildge and the gasket on the sending unit on top of the tank leaking. Well didn't our job priorities change. Anyway 8 hours in the cold rain the GPS is in (thanks again dothemath!!) new meter is in and compass is almost there, need a special bracket from livorsi. Today 4 hours in the cold raw weather with a howling wind off the bay fixing a gasket that should have taken 20 min but it was positioned that you had to use a 90 degree screw driver and get only 1/4 of a turn every time. WOW...... what a difference. But good news is no more fuel leak. I flushed the bilge with gallons of simple green and ran a hose for 15 min.... Good thing I have great friends. I know a lot about boating but these guys take the cake! Thanks again!

OCD,that happened to me once and an old timer told me to mix a solution of baking soda and warm water it kills the gas and odor for good. Glad to hear no major mishap with the leak.

OCD, Didn't make it up until late Saturday.... no matter I see you had some issues I'm glad to see you got resolved. Shoot me some numbers (RPM 's at WOT, I don't need speed #'s). I know you're looking to get to 5250, let me know where you are at right now and what prop specs. I'll be up next weekend, I'll bring my spare props to let you try and see if we can't get you to where you want to be. I can drop them off at your parents or Steve's, just let me know. Your new installs are going to be great!. Bob |

Thanks on the props but lets hold off right now. I am pushing 4850 with the 24 on there now. I just traded for a 24 polished and a friend of mine is giving me a 24 labbed. Let me see what happens with those two at WOT before you go through any trouble... Right now I really just need to get the small projects done before I start adding to my "to do" list. I won't be up next weekend, but I might be on the weekend of the 22nd and definately memorial day. So either way lets plan on having you by! Maybe run some prop tests!

Thanks for the tip.. Tom at Unique Boat was helpful. He said to find some strong detergent and run it through. I purchased about 2-3 gallons of Simple Green and dumped that down the bildge and let it run the length of the boat. Then let the hose run for 15 min or so. It worked and boy does it smell nice.. LOL.
