Default Can't wait!!

Got word from Thurston's Monday that my boat was all prepped, buffed and in the water. Planning to take Friday afternoon off to go through my normal prep - cleaning the interior, treating the vinyl, getting vests etc back on board. Then heading back up Saturday with the family for first day of cruising.

Should be a great way to spend a birthday!

Engines with forced injection (blower/supercharger or turbocharger) generally require higher octane gas to run properly. Since he dropped the supercharger as part of an engine rebuild, his engine is now NA (naturally aspirated) ie: a normal engine and can run on lower octane (cheaper) gas.

It sure was not nice today when I picked up my new boat at Shep Brown's! 39 degrees and raining. Put it through it's paces for about 30 minutes and that was enough. Towed it 103 miles home to MA.

The Eagle's nest in Moultonborough Bay is a good place to hang out and meet other forum members. The nest is HUGE this year. Now and then, the eagle puts on a show. It would be nice to have a forum flag so you could identify those who you might know.

I have thought from time to time of putting a sign at the end of my dock.... but then I might get disappointed if no one came in to visit....

Come through the six pack headed towards the bridge.....look for house after house of four Winns boats, and huge Sail boat, followed by a huge cemement wall..... count back 4 properties, there will be a green Four Winns.... thats me Relaxin on Long Island.... usually have one side of the dock open.... yell up...I am friendly......

Not a bad idea.. I know that sbonh is working on putting a decal together to put on their boats. Maybe winni.com will also do something similar.

I have an old NHRBA sticker on my boat. Wondering if I should take it off. Other old members are leaving theirs on.

I have a NHRBA T-shirt as well.

There are Winni.com stickers available via CafePress.com. You can find the Winni Store at the homepage and stickers (etc) right here ...

http://www.cafepress.com/winni

You can also get the limited edition Winni.com pennant there as well. I'm surprised I don't see more of them out on the lake.

Hoping to find the scoundrels that absconded with my dock and convince them to return it so I'll have someplace to put my boat. Fortunately, my cam caught them in the act so I have a few leads

Gatto, are you serious, someone stole your dock. Who does these things. Good luck on the investigation, I would think that the value would get you above the slap on the wrist threshold.

BTW, OCD the boat looks sweet, good luck on the water this year.

My response is the same....Are you serious? Someone really stole your dock? That is crazy. I too hope that you have good luck recovering it and that the Idiots that did it are fully punished.

Caught red handed! That pic was actually from this afternoon as they were returning it. I watched them live as they did it. At least they had the decency to completely put the dock in place, boards and all, for summer use. I had left it tilted up for winter storage and the boards stacked next to the house. I guess there's something to be said for considerate thieves .

OCD and all those out on the lake this weekend I am envious.
Since I just got a new "Little" 14' boat (Just Sold Jr.) I will be working on it this weekend. I have not had time to register the trailer or the boat yet either. This week though.
Just think of me at home doing repairs and polishing the hull and interior. The trailer is a fully restored 1970 Tee Nee so that is all set.

Wink Despicable!

There once was a cat from the lake
Whose dock some scoundrels did take.
Fat Lazy denied it,
But in the cam shot I spied it,
That's Less on the barge with R-Snake.

Everyone needs to go boating! Maybe out on the water we'll escape the black fly swarms!

Thankfully it was very windy today, enough to stop lots of boating. But also the flies! If you stepped anywhere out of the wind, you were attacked big time! Not sure which I prefer.

Less and Snake, so you say?
If that be true the price they'll pay
To heist a man's dock's a dastardly deed
Certainly belies The Forum creed
But what's the punishment that fits this crime?
At very least they should do time
Webmaster Don, won't you assist?
Perhaps a month on the dreaded blacklist
To this lofty stint they'd lend some stock
Perhaps enough to return my dock

That is pretty sad that someone would stoop so low as to steal docks! Is this a new fad? I hope not! We are all so trusting around here, leaving boats just tied, not chained ---and who would think someone would have to worry about their dock????? I am in shock!!

Question A Wrong-Address-Repo?

1) Tis, if I were you, I'd put a lock on gas tanks. (If you recall last year's surprise).

2) It's not unknown for a bank to take "repossession" on the water. (Though repossession of a dock is stretching that point!)

Maybe there should be a requirement for putting one's street address on everything we own, including on the shoreline?

3) Those fortunate enough to have an aluminum boat (like FLL) should benefit from enhanced warmth from sunshine; however, I was just about to step out and enjoy the purported sunshine, when a huge dark cloud covered up the sky as far as I can see. (Westward).

Even if it does warm up later—it's 56° presently at 9:10AM—the cool lake will put a chill on boaters. (So keep a jacket handy).
