Default Ice - Getting to Rattlsnake

Back when we had a little snow (last Tues - which only lasted 1 day...) I went by snowmobile (note, I always feel safer on a sled vs. on foot). The last few times (most recently today) I walked because there is no snow.
The ice is perfectly smooth so you need crampons (note, the ice-skating would be fantastic...). The ice from the Landing straight out to the peninsula/point (e.g., location of the former the alligator) is 8" to 10" of good solid-black-ice. Given I have been on foot I have not explored going around the Island but there are always a few trecherous areas/ridges so be careful.
