this may be to late for consideration - but the king lobster at Sandy Point is my birthday dinner...I wait all year for it... expensive but worth the splurge..

Well my recommendation is not exactly in the lakes region, but..I am a self confessed lobster aficionado. I'd challenge anyone in the Lakes region to try and beat the lobster roll at Reds in Wiccasset, Maine.
This is the standard by which I judge lobster rolls. Indubitably, the best lobster roll on the planet. ![]() http://www.urbanspoon.com/rph/207/14...our-line-photo |

I'll third Red's. Last time we went our wait was only 35 minutes. Their Lobster rolls are the very best anywhere.

Thank you for all of your suggestions. We ended up at Sandy Point. We were happy that they had a lot of options - at least one person in our party prefers a "lazy man" option. Also, the service was great - very friendly and attentive. It was expensive but we were prepared for that. We usually only do this once per year so that is ok.
