It may be a combination, with the letters neon and the arrow, bulbs?
I wonder how old that sign is?

The 'Weirs' in the sign has gone dark while the 'Beach' is still lighted so it needs repair.
It is probably a 'light emitting diodes' and not a neon sign.

If not unique, certainly unusual: In how many cities does the Fire Department roll out a truck to water the flowers at the base of such a sign? I remember watching them do this on my early am ride to work. |

Warren's Lobster House on Route 1 just after you crossed into Kittery from Badger Island had a neon sign that was so similar that I have to wonder if it was built by the same designer/installer as the Weirs sign. Unfortunately Warrens was listed for sale last fall and that piece of history may soon disappear.
