I just started tending bar up at Weirs on weekends and it's quite a commute for me. I sent out some requests early in the week to area lodging facilities asking them to let me know of any last minute deals on Friday. I figured I could stay up overnight if I got a good deal, and could help fill an empty room.
Only one place responded with anything but a note telling me their full boat rate. Am I doing something immoral here, or are people just overly optimistic? I did end up staying at the one place that did respond (Thanks Rob and Donna at the Lake Winnipisaukee Motel...Really great place. The wife loved it). Driving around, I noticed all these places I had contacted with empty parking lots. BTW, the LWM was booked solid other than the Two bedroom cottage they had for one night. Win,Win Any ways, does anyone know of a place or site that offers last minute availability? I'll be doing this all summer and will stay or commute depending on how much the rate digs into my tips. I could use my charm and try to find bedding the old fashioned way, but I think my wife would disapprove ![]() Chowda |

Chowda...
You are probably better off setting up a regular arrangement with a place... like the Lake Winnipesaukee Motel. or you could stay over in Tilton at the Red Roof (20mins away) for short $$$ Woodsy PS: What bar?
