These bureaucrats all need a lesson in economics and customer service. Why oh why is it necessary for them to treat people poorly (tourists and locals alike) that are trying to spend their hard earned money in the Town? It's another "Ames Farm" situation - kill the local business that's been supporting these bureaucrats' out of control spending for many years.

As I posted on another thread, The island residents are upset about the new regulations. They have been parking in the three hour zone to spite the town residents.
I ask the Gilford officer about the situation. There is no rule or regulation that the Gilford Island residents can not park there. I can feel Lyon's Den and Gilford non-island residents pain.

Do you know this for a fact because I certainly do not see this happening. To the contrary, I see most island residents leaving those spaces open whenever possible. Sometimes there is no choice if all the island docks are full. But I have yet to meet any island person that spiteful. Dan |

We finally tried the Lyons' Den last Thursday and it certainly lived up to the great reviews in this thread. We had a reservation and somehow were given the prime table at the center of the large window pictured below. The atmosphere, wine, food and service were all excellent and we had a very nice anniversary dinner. Lauren came by our table to chat a little and make sure everything was perfect.
Lauren and the Lyons' Den get five stars from us. We'll be back. ![]() |
