Greetings,
We're looking for a good meal for adults on Saturday night. I've heard Canoe is really good, but we want to be in Meredith. What do you folks recommend? Many thanks! |

My recommendation would be: Abontante
http://www.abondantenh.com If you like eating outside, they have a garden out back that usually isn't too crowded, inside could be noisy at times. |

I like Lago, and my favorite is Mame's. My husband, who doesn't care for noisy places, prefers Mame's, with their smaller, cozy rooms.

Mame's, Lago and Abontante are all good choices. Mame's is my favorite.
Abontante likes advance reservations, so if you are going there, get on the phone today. Enjoy! R2B |

Guissepe's, Karen and Barry's (relaxed atmosphere, great food) Camp (relaxed as well a little more pricey) and The LakeHouse Grill (more formal, you'll pay a little more but still reliable good food). Those are my recommendations, have fun!

We went with another couple last Friday night. The place was packed, Karen told us there would be a delay but we were welcome to take the last empty table...right in the front window.
Karen is a character, a little rough around the edges, but seems to be a real sweetheart and made us feel like we were the only ones there. Two of us chose the Veal Saltamboca, one opted for the Veal Parm, and the other dish was the Veal Marsala. We all agreed that they were the best we ever had. Somebody in the kitchen deserves some serious kudos putting out some seriously good dishes like we were served all the while being absolutely packed. The meals were awesome! If there is anything to comment on that was disappointing, then it would be the bread that was served. It tasted like the italian bread you buy in the supermarket. My guess though, is that they ran out of what is usually served...totally understandable, considering how busy they were. By the end of our meal, the place started to thin out a little, so we called Karen over to chat and to compliment her on one of the best dining out experiences we havd had while at the lake. My wife asked about the marinara sauce and Karen told us how it was made...real easy, we're anxious to try it. I asked about the other sauces we were served and she gave us the secret to their recipes.... "if you can't drink it, don't cook with it" .... a rule I can definitely live by. ![]() All in all, a truly great experience and highly recommended. |

We were trying to decide where to take my nephew and his fiancé for dinner last night North End, Bob House, Canoe, Mames, when suddenly my wife asked do you like good Italian food. So it was off to K&B's. My nephew had the veal Saltamboca, I had the Marsala and both my wife and Tammy had the Egg plant and Chicken Parm. It wasn't long before we were all sampling each entree exclaiming how delicious each was. The Marsala sauce was so good ![]() As for the Scala bread three tubes of butter maid it quite moist. I printed out your complete post and brought it with us and gave it to Karen. She was very appreciative of your and others positive comment here on the forum.
