Default Wildflowers

Most of those wildflower patches along the highway are posted "NO PICKING". I thought Lady Slippers were still on the endangered list too.

Why would you consider stopping along highways/interstates to pick flowers of any kind????? But if you are talking about picking Queen Anne's Lace and black-eyed Susans along the back roads, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. I do it all the time and make "roadside bouquets." I pull over where it is safe to do so and always have scissors with me.

Threatened and endangered plants in NH. I guess if it's not on this list then you can pick it.

On the list:
fairy slipper
greater yellow lady's slipper
lesser yellow lady's slipper
ram's head lady's slipper
showy lady's slipper

Not on the list Queens Anns Lace, Blackeyed Suzans

Default Flowers on Highway

Hi Shamrock,

Unfortunately, it is illegal. Please see the link below. These are all the "rules of the road" that come under Chapter 265 of the NH Statutes. The section that is most direct to your question is section 69(I)(k), but as you look through the 159 sections you will see many others that would prohibit you. Sorry for the bad news. The backroads would probably be ok if not designated as a highway.
