Garwoods is my favorite restaurant
I enjoy Garwoods' atmosphere and the food is excellent. Nicely priced, too. (Although, I am one to pay a little more for good food and great atmosphere. I believe they are lost treasures these days.) If you do not know, Garwoods is in Wolfeboro and is right on Wolfeboro Bay. They have their own docking, too. I have always eaten in the bar area which has excellent views. I bring my two boys (who are accustomed to eating out and are well behaved... 90% of the time). They enjoy it, too. If you have not been to Garwoods, definitely make the trip.

Garwood's
I agree with Janie. Garwood's has great food, pleasant and efficient service, and terrific bartenders. We always sit in the bar area for the views as well. I'd recommend it highly.

Garwoods/Baileys
Actually, I was in Garwoods on Sunday and was told that they're (Garwoods owners) opening what was "Bailey's Dockside" in time for the Summer. Lot's of work going on at the old restaurant.

Good lunches, not so much for dinner
Quote:
We've always liked Garwoods for lunch but haven't, on 2 separate occasions, had good luck with dinner there. Too bad, we really like the place but can only recommend lunches there.

Ate there last Saturday
Sat out back. Views are nice. Service was fine. However, the waitress delivered a (literally) cold cup of chowder -- not really her fault. The kitchen misfired. Like is was dished up in the walk-in cold. Food was otherwise ok, but nothing special. I'd eat there again, but wouldn't go out of my way. We like other restaurants around the lake better.

Garwood
I've had lunch on the patio out back a number of times. Food was excellent and service was good even though it is pretty busy in the summer. My only complaint is that the hostess will tell you the patio is out back without escorting my party. When I got there it was full. Like a waste of time and effort. We were led to believe that there was room.
