I'm getting the impression that the north side of the lake offers more access than the south side.
Unfortunately coming up from Mass makes Moultonborough a long ride for a day trip with the kids. That and I have dont almost all by boating (47 years) on the south side of the lake and am very comfortable with the waters I know. The Ames farm issue really has me bummed out,,, Does anyone know what the West Alton Marina access and parking is like? I had used Fays once or twice and really did not like it. People were not friendly and almost seemed put off by day boaters and parking was not good and it was pretty run down and not a great place to have young kids who are itching to get out on the water,,, The Alton ramp is a lousy option as there is no dock at the ramp and no parking. Again not a family friendly option. Downing is ok during the week, but on the weekend is not a option unless you get up at 4:00 AM to beat the crowd. Can people recommend other south lake options for day ramps that are family friendly and have parking??? You can easily see why Ames worked so well for people like me. And they were always SUPER friendly! Thanks |
